The New Orleans Hornets put up a great fight against the Lakers on Friday. They had little left in the tank for Saturday's game at Utah, but that sets up a good spot for them tonight as they journey to Sacramento. The Hornets have been tremendous playing off a double digit road loss and I like their chances of getting back in the win column tonight. Monday free opinion on the Hornets minus the points.

Both teams played Sunday, so there will be some tired legs. Denver is returning from an 8-game road trip, Boston is playing its 5th straight away from home. It's hard to imagine Boston wanting to get into a run-and-gun track meet with the athletic Nuggets, especially with one of its Big 3, Kevin Garnett, out. And Denver has some minor injuries with forward Carmelo Anthony (bruised left knee) and fellow forward Kenyon Martin is questionable with a bad back. When they met back in November, oddsmakers were expecting an uptempo game, but it fell 19 points under the total. There are even more reasons this time to expect a slow pace. Play the Celtics/Nuggets under the total.

The 3-game road trek for the Hornets just got a tad easier, as New Orleans has already lost at the Lakers, and at the Jazz, but the G-Man feels strongly they will head back to the Big Easy with a solid win and cover at Sacramento tonight.

The Kings sport just 2 straight up wins their last 17 games, and the points sure haven't helped much as Sacramento is just 5-16 against the spread their last 21 at the Arco Arena.

New Orleans did win the last meeting between the teams, 99-90, but failed to cover as the 15 1/2-point favorite. The price tonight is a little more respectable, and as I said earlier, I don't see the Hornets dropping all 3 on this road swing.

We are jumping all over this game as we love the Jazz. They are playing insane basketball, taking no prisoners crushing anyone who challenges them. 4 straight wins against the Lakers, Grizzlies, Celtics, and Hornets. 3 of those 4 teams are pretty damn good, don't ya think? Atlanta are going to walk into Utah tonight in stun disbelief as the Jazz are firing on all cylinders. The Hawks lost to Portland by 10 on Friday, and Utah are playing better than Portland. East meets West tonight and Utah are going to dominate. Take the Jazz.

Wofford come into this game playing hot, winning 4 of their last 5 games. Western Carolina on the other hand have lost 3 of their last 5, having trouble finding a consistent level to play at. One of these losses came as a 6 point favorite! They lost to The Citadel at home as they were favored by 6. As we all can infer, they are not playing quality basketball. Western Carolina took the earlier matchup this season, winning 65-77 but let us not forget that they were the home team. Since that game, these two teams have started playing differently. This game caps off a 3 game road trip for Western Carolina, and they lost the first one to Elon and struggled with UNC-Greensboro (who are a horrid 4-20) before beating them by 13. Wofford will take down Western Carolina tonight, so take them as they are playing hot and are at home.

The Sacramento Kings have surrendered less than 105 points just once in their last 19 games, giving up an average of 116 points during that stretch. The OVER is 11-8 in Sacramento's last 19 games, but this is the lowest posted total on a game for the Kings since January 11th.
